Hello there, it is time for another post for The Cutting Café design team, and we were challenged in a very fun way... - let's SUPER SIZE our project for this post - were the words of our dear Regina Easter, coordinator of the group and owner of the store.
Well I must say that I loved the idea, and it came in handy as I was planning my now 11 year old daughter's birthday party, so I decided to create a couple of pieces to be displayed in the activity.
For this I used two files: One is the Fun with Dress Forms...Template-Cutting File & Printable Set and the other is the High Heel Shoe Shaped Card.
And.... this is what I created !!
So let me explain....
The theme of the party was FASHION and we decided to use 3 elements to carry it out , a mannequin (dress form), a shoe, and a purse.
The mannequin was used to create the invitations and also to create a 3D display that we would be using on the table on which we would be putting the little presents we gave out to the little guests (See photo above)
This display is 23" tall. To make her I made 3 flat mannequin which I folded in half and then glued together. To carry out the color scheme which was black, fucsia and white I embellished the piece with white and half white flowers, and added pearls.
For the girls to take pictures I created a photo frame. This was made out of 2 sheets of corrugated cardboard which I cut down to 48" wide and 40" tall and glued together for strength. The frame was 5" wide. To decorate it I also used a 23" tall dress form and a 12' tall high heel shoe, along with a 12" tall purse from another cutting file I had.
We also used the shoe and purse to decorate some of the candies displayed on the candy bar.
Let me say I need to apologize with you for the quality of the photos. With all the running with the preparations I did not take the best of pictures when I was in the process of creating these pieces and said to myself that I would take lovely ones when we were at the party once they were on display, and guess what.....with all the going and coming taking care of the details and keeping the girls well entertained I forgot...lol.
But well, I hope you can appreciate the beauty of these pieces. I loved creating them....It was fun....
Take care and see you again on August 7th for another post for The Cutting Cafe.
I discribe myself as an artist in progress.
